Imposter Syndrome

Updated: Sep 20, 2021

Slithering silently like a snake, doubt sneaks in

Wrapping itself around your brain

An unwelcome guest hissing unwelcome words

Not good enough. So mediocre. You don't know enough. You will never be enough.

Mood shifts and darkens like thunderclouds rolling in

Heavy, dark swells of fear crash over the mind

Awareness stirs inside and senses the intruder,

illuminates the space where doubt has made itself comfortable

Hello doubt, you are visiting again today? How kind but you didn't knock...

Very rude of you...

Doubt grins confidently but cannot bear the discomfort of the light

And loosens its grip to slither off to a dark corner in your mind

Consciousness is always there to light your path
